Kanchipuram

Kanchipuram is a town of temples, in India. The most famous temple is the Kamakshi Amman Temple. Other famous temples are Ekambareshwarar temple, Varadharaja Swamy temple. The famous Kanchi mutt, established by Shri AdhiShankara is situated here.

Apart from these temples mentioned above, there are around 100 temples in the town. When approaching Kanchi from Chennai, one can have a lush green view of the fields and the Varadharaja Swample temple Kopuram. It gives a feel that one should stay in Kanchi just for this view.

Apart from temples, Kanchi is famous of the silk weaving industry. Hundreds of people earn their bread from weaving the silk thread into a lovely silk saries also known as Kanchipuram silk saris.
