Sikasso

Sikasso is a region and city in the south of Mali, 375 kilometers from the capital Bamako.

Get in

The city is 100 kilometers from Mali's border to Cote d'Ivoire and 45 kilometers to Burkina-Faso.

See

Some touristic sites:

• The Mamelon, a hill in the city center, which used to be the site of the kings of Sikasso.
• The caves of Missiricoro at 13 kilometers.
• The falls of Farako at 20 kilometers.

Eat

Thanks to its subtropical climate there are plenty of fruit and vegetables throughout the year - in contrast to other parts of Mali.
