Silesa => is a Central European region partitioned between Poland and the Czech Republic
Regions
Silesia consist of two geographical regions:
- Upper Silesia - the eastern part of Silesia with the historical capital in Opole
- Lower Silesia - the western part of Silesia with the capital in Wroclaw which was known to be a capital of whole Silesia
Nowadays Silesia is splitted between five sub-regions. Four of them belongs to Poland and one to Czech Republic. Three of polish sub-regions are following voivodeships: Dolnoslaskie with capital in Wroclaw, Opolskie with capital in Opole, Slaskie with capital in Katowice. Fourth old-silesian sub-region with main city Zielona Gora has became included to Lubuskie voivodeship together with Gorzow Wielkopolski.
