Taiping

Taiping is in Perak state in Malaysia. It is considered a Pensioner Paradise.

Taiping used to be the capital of the state of Perak.

Get in

Taiping is just off the PLUS North-South Highway, some 75km from Penang and some 80km from Ipoh. If you are coming from the south get off the highway at the Cangkat Jering toll plaza or from Penang get off at the Kamunting toll booth. It takes about an hour's drive from Ipoh and almost the same from Penang. You can also take a taxi or bus to Taiping.
